ABOUT

I’m Catherine, an Award-Winning Certified Financial Coach, former Financial Adviser & Money Expert with a talent for simplifying money.

I work with creatives of all kinds, musicians, artists, writers, entrepreneurs, small business owners helping them with their personal finances and build a healthy money relationship that supports their creative life.

Away from work my first love is music, I study piano, drums, songwriting & psychology and volunteer in community & music projects.  Otherwise I can be found outdoors swimming, hiking or adventuring with my dog or one of my 3 grown children.

Ask Me

Who do you work with?

I love working with interesting & creative people – entrepreneurs, musicians & artists of all kinds. I help them simplify money and change money mindsets so they can focus on what matters most to them; whether that’s to make music, create art, grow a family, start a business, travel, or just live life a little slower

Do you coach in the Workplace?

I also coach employees through workplace employee benefit schemes paid for by Employers. I’ve worked with hundreds of people helping them understand pensions, salary sacrifice nursery fees, build debt plans, start saving, plan parental leave or prepare to buy their first home.

Why do you work with Creatives

I have a musical alter-ego and run my business so I can make time to do what I love such as complete a BA in Songwriting, play piano, learn the drums, write poetry & songs, start a community choir and begin a Masters in Music Psychology.

Musicians, artists & creatives can be held back by limiting beliefs around how they can or can’t earn money. Being creative can lead to money coming in inconsistently, causing anxiety, forcing different career decisions or challenging money management, yet creatives are excellent at making money when they know how. Art needs time, freedom & purpose and can get crushed when being made in order to make a living.

These are all things I am familiar with and financially know how to overcome. By working with creatives to manage their finances and create a lifestyle conducive with creativity, then I play a part in their art making it into the world.

Why do you work on a Pay-as-You-Go basis?

I like the transparency and honesty of one fixed price for everyone, no hard sell, no tie in, no hidden fees, Money should be simple, honest and easy. I wont take a percentage out of a product or sell you more than you need.

In turn you know I’m here when you need me at an affordable price point. You pay for my time and expertise when you want it like you would a solicitor, personal trainer or accountant.

What made you become a Financial Coach

After a challenging start with money, I finally had a moment when I realised I was “destined to repeat what I didn’t understand” and recognised my financial challenges were rooted in the beliefs and fears around money that I learned in childhood and quietly repeated ever since.

When I began to change my beliefs and improve my money relationship, my financial situation changed too. I doubled my income, finally bought a house and realised I was really creative at making money. This is so accessible and empowering I love helping others do the same.

I went on to qualify first as an Independent Financial Adviser specialising in pensions, savings and investments then in 2021 I completed my certification as a Financial Coach and focused on Money Mindset, Management, Education & Coaching.

Are you a Financial Adviser?

I no longer give regulated financial advice. I qualified first as an Independent Financial Adviser then further qualifications in Equity Release, Mortgages, Wills & Long Term Care helping people understand their financial products, goals and how to plan for their future.

Nowadays I work purely in an educational and coaching capacity. I wont give your regulated advice, nor will I sell you a financial product.

What’s the best thing about Money Coaching?

The change it brings for people and often so quickly! Money is often feared, ignored or we carry an uncomfortable relationship or financially limiting belief. Once these feelings and beliefs change and our knowledge around how to manage money increases then the money comes too. I love being able to take something uncomfortable away from someone and leave them with something positive instead.

I also love how creative money is. Getting creative about ways to make it, grow it, turn it into something positive, use it to share, give away or just enjoy life. Money doesn’t make us greedy or change us, but when money is in the hands of good people, good things happen.

What do you do when your not being a Financial Coach?

Anything creative or adventurous! Mostly it’s music first, I’m learning to play drums, I play piano and run a small community choir as well as write songs. I love photography & baking & gardening…otherwise I’m in a lake swimming, hiking somewhere beautiful or having some sort of adventure with my dog or grown up children!
